PC-like resin is engineered to replicate polycarbonate's high stiffness and elevated heat deflection temperature, delivering excellent dimensional accuracy and resistance to deflection under load. Despite simulating a thermoplastic known for exceptional impact resistance, PC-like resin is actually notably more brittle than ABS-like or tough resin. The stiffness that makes it excel at holding precise geometry comes at the cost of the impact toughness real polycarbonate is known for. Heat resistance varies by specific formulation. PC-like resin suits wind-tunnel testing models, high-temperature fluid manifolds, precision jigs, and fixtures where dimensional stability under load matters more than impact resistance.
