ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is valued for its impact resistance and heat tolerance. It holds its shape at temperatures up to roughly 80 °C, well above PLA's limit of around 50-60 °C, which makes it the better choice when parts need to handle both mechanical stress and moderate heat. It resists many everyday chemicals, though certain solvents like acetone will dissolve it. Its UV resistance is limited, and prolonged sun exposure can cause yellowing and embrittlement, so for long-term outdoor use, ASA is the better fit. ABS is a good choice for enclosures, mechanical prototypes, and parts that need to withstand everyday handling and moderate heat.
